Sunshine, very fine weather.
On friday we started the project. After an introduction by Mrs. Heim, wherein she explained several details about plagiarism, everyone knew finally what’s it all about and what would be their special task for the following week in our professional school. Following the group finding all project themes were handed out to the groups via loose decision. The further day was spent by the groups creating a concept and doing some research. The documentation group started with a detailed introduction in constructing and designing websites.

Grey sky, fog, typical for Sondershausen.
Fresh off we started into the official project week – more or less. All groups tried to realize their plans in “finest” rainy weather, some of them being decimated by illness. Most teams explored the city, being accompanied by the documentation team. Group 3 visited the Marstall and was lucky to be allowed to enter it. Group 5 first headed to the tourist information, then to the bookstore and finally to the city library Johann Karl Wezel, where they coincidentally met groups 3 and 6. At the same time, group 4 explored the castle’s snow-covered park. The biggest challenge was here to return to the school uninjured. Occasionally, pupils and raindrops fell onto icy cobblestones.

Grey sky again, fog, typical Sondershausen weather with a touch of snow.
So idyllic the town may look like, it’s quite the opposite. In exemplary business the groups resumed their work for the project. Group 5 visited the Achteckhaus under guidance of Mr. Mucha, the castle’s administrator, and half of the documentation team. According to the motto “no shoes in the Achteckhaus” they stared fascinated on the recently cleaned inner room. Most of the groups were very employed in the literature they found the day before in the library – some of them searched the internet for further information and did some work on their manuscripts while group 4 designed its project portfolio. In the afternoon, groups 1, 4 and 5 went to the library again.

Again, Sondershausen is hidden in fog.
Althoug the weather did not make happy, the groups smiled for the camera. Half past ten in Sondershausen half of group 1 was on the way to the archives. The groups 2 and 6, as well as the other half of group 1, went to the museum of the castle, where they got a guided tour – of course accompanied by two members of the documentation team. Horrified, we learned that during GDR-times for example the beautiful stucco ceilings were hidden underneath a layer of plaster. Meanwhile they can be seen in all its glory again – thanks to the restores. It was also impressive to see that lots of rooms still have their original parquet, which has got different designs in every room. Yet it often gnarled in the northern and western parts of the castle.

A slide at Sondershausen, the day started foggy again, but the sun fought through the clouds.
The first victory of the day was to arrive to the school safely. This wasn’t obvious because of the icy streets and ways. Soon after everyone arrived, there was the first shock: the documentation team would like to have a group shot…After this was done the groups were allowed to work at their texts, because finally they had to hand out some information for the documentation team. Despite best weather the groups spend their time working at the computers to finish their report, presentation and results.

Not that foggy anymore.
Our project week is finally over and the results are really nice to see. Things which were not finished yet or non-satisfying got completed and shortly after, the presentation started. The framework for the presentation was the showing of the website, which got interrupted by the presentation of the results of the other groups. After this was done and the chaos was removed, too, we finally were able to go home.
